One Pastor's Thoughts . . .

Methodist Church was officially organized in 1976 with 23 charter families. The former “church without walls” finally had a home when its first building was built on Woods Chapel Road in 1977, and later expanded in 1983.
The congregation broke ground on the current building on Lakewood Way in February 1998 with a dream of welcoming 400 people to worship each Sunday. Through the commitment of hundreds of families, the new facility was destined to serve as “a light on the hill for all who pass.”
Since those early days, hundreds have joined our ministry. Today, over 1,000 people worship at our church each Sunday! We remain true to the roots set forth by our church founders, continuing to focus on connecting people through small groups—over 250 group opportunities are currently available.
As was the vision of those charter families so long ago, Woods Chapel Church today truly serves as a beacon, connecting people to each other and to Jesus Christ in the community, state and world through worship and missions. 

In November 1974, a handful of people joined together for the first worship service of the Woods Chapel Church. This new congregation was a “church without walls,” holding Sunday services at the parsonage and meeting in members’ homes for small group fellowship.
